Big rubber band for holding Victrola lids closed.
I collect old bicycles so I visit bike shops frequently. My local shop had a bin filled with junk parts including several old tubes. The owner gave me some old tubes and I've used them to keep Victrola lids closed when the machine is on its back. A 26" balloon tire can be cut into two or three large rubber bands but the best tube comes from a larger light weight bike. A skinny tube from a 28" rim will easily stretch over the largest Victrola and gently hold the lid in place. Don't forget to cut out the stem. Jerry Blais
