What machine is this?

Post by chuckmoy »

Happy to say that I successfully arrived in the US without any of my records being broken. All six arrived perfectly.

Anyway, while wasting some time I came across this photo. Appears to be in a Chinatown or maybe in a slum in Eastern China- it appears multiple people are listening to a cylinder phonograph. What machine is this? There are several "stethoscope" looking things coming out of the machine.

Thought it looked like an Eagle, but a close up I'm not sure.

Maybe a Columbia Eagle/Q in custom case?

How about a Paillard theatrephone with the "earphone" attachment instead of the horn in a beer crate ?
