I need this as I'm currently restoring one and would like to see more examples of what it looks like, particularly the motor.
thanks

How about some pictures of yours? I have a few G&T's, but I have no idea whether or not they're a "Baby Monarch".

The New Victors, or Baby Monarchs, were basically imported and rebadged Victor 1’s. Horns may vary but the rest of the hardware should be the same. German examples sometimes have more ornate case designs.

I hope this may help. I have two examples, the first being a 'sympathetically restored' one (not by me):

And the second, in very timeworn but sound working condition (sorry for the photos being poor, let me know if you need better and I will try):

Aha! I do have one of those. I'll have a look at my motor, if it's any different than what's been shown I'll post pictures of it.

Re: can someone send me some pictures of their G&T New Victor (Baby Monarch)
interesting, my New Victor has a base mounted motor, just like the one shown in the his master's gramophone book?
Now mine was made by DGAG, so maybe that has something to do with it?
edit: just to clarify the speed control dial is also on the side on my machine just like the one shown in the page

Your description of a base mounted motor, along with that speed control, would seem to indicate a motor such as used in the Victor P2 machines.Victor guy1 wrote: Thu Sep 04, 2025 3:20 pm interesting, my New Victor has a base mounted motor, just like the one shown in the his master's gramophone book?
