Information on this model

Hello all,

Its been awhile since I have searched around for a new purchase. I came across this Edison B19, it looks very different to any of the photos I have seen online for this model. It has me somewhat intrigued.

Would anyone be able to supply me with some information on this item? Do you think it is original or unique?

As far as I know, the B-19 was only ever marketed as a table model...

I think this is not authentic: what say you all?

Looks like a H-19 with the legs cut off maybe with substitute grill and door. Look more closely at serial tag it says B so perhaps that was also changed or they mistakenly put a B one as H and B might appear similar to a worker on factory floor?

I vote not original, it's either a mix of cabinets, or a custom cabinet with some Edison influence.

I'm in this camp as well.

Personally, I would stay away from it. Very minimal value, mostly in parts. However, if the price is also very minimal, and if you like it...

It's not like one of those things like the Babson Bros cabinet that turns the Amberola 30 into a floor machine? I think they had a similar cabinet for a VV-IX?

This is not a complete original Edison cabinet. The grill is from model London No. 1 (L35) or London No. 2 (L36). The lid appears to possibly be from a Hepplewhite (H19) model. Unless there is some rare exception that I don't know about, Edison never put a metal nameplate on the lid. Nameplates on Edison Disc Phonographs are always on the upper part of the cabinet near the turntable, and the Edison name should be where the Hepplewhite nameplate is.
