Edison Wax Cylinder conversion kit

Post by paradroid1793 »

Are there still conversion kits available/parts to convert an Edison Standard to play Blue Amberols? Either old or new solutions welcomed. Thanks.
Be sure to look up Samuel Murchison Seka on the interwebs for some music and phonograph reading material.

They show up from time to time on ebay, typically in the $150 range.

Do these have a specific name or something like "Amberol Conversion Kit"?

They're usually called "2-4 minute conversion kits".

Back in the day, the Edison factory referred to these kits as "Combination Attachments."

Doing a search on E-bay just now for "edison attachment" yielded 5 of these kits
being offered for use on a Edison Standard.
