I am missing the proper nut for a Gibson tone arm. Hopefully, someone has a spare. (I would also appreicate a really good photo of one, with some dimensions.)

Hi Jerry,
This question has come up before. I created this dimensioned sketch in this posting.

Maybe Dave would be willing to make another.

I totally forgot about this. Jerry Van certainly does not need my help with this as he is the finest machinist I know.
This drawing will allow him to make one himself.

Jerry if you decide to make one I have an original you can barrow for a pattern. I can drop it off in Novi Tuesday afternoon for you to pickup. Or you're always welcome to stop in and get it.

Wow! Some great replies here! Thanks to EVERYONE who offered help, drawings & even compliments. Thanks also to "Kiwiatlarge" for his PM. What great folks we have here,
Larry,
I'll try making one from Mark's drawing and using the pictures of yours as a reference.

Re: WANTED: Victor Gibson Tone Arm Part
In spite of Dave's high praise, my efforts at making the nut did not turn out as well as his did. It's nice enough, but since I typically make stuff out of random pieces of steel that I "collect", I'm not always sure how well a given piece will machine. In this case, the steel was very tough, and the knurl came out a bit ugly. I'll try again later, when I'm not ticked off about it...Dave D wrote: Sun Nov 23, 2025 11:43 am I totally forgot about this.
