Edison Phonograph Extended Length on/off Switches

Post by Andersun »

I received an Edison suitcase Model A Home with a very long on/off switch which looks to be factory supplied. Searching through the web I found an Edison Standard B that also had an extended on/off switch. Anyone else experience this phenomenon? See pics of both machines.....

I've encountered those long on/off switches too. My only theory is that the originals were replaced by switches from "B" and later models, whose switches were a bit longer to accommodate the motors being suspended below the bed plates.
