William J. Tascott recorded only TWO coon song cylinder recordings for Edison and these sold very poorly indeed.

He insisted on being credited as simply “TASCOTT” on the announcements of his two recordings.

He was known for his EXCEEDINGLY LOUD voice and his recordings often overdrive most diaphragms! This cylinder is in excellent condition.

“YOU MUST THINK I’M SANTA CLAUS” is a GREAT recording especially this time of year. It’s a coon song about a man and his lady friend who wants much more than he can afford.
