This is one of the better Youtube videos I have found for explaining tapping to beginners.

Comprehension (of anything) is both top down and bottom up process.
Top down is the use of what knowledge you all ready have in your head.
Bottom up is the use of what knowledge is presented to you (in text, in a video or class).
There is a balance. One must use what one already knows to understand what is presented. And what is presented must not overreach its target audience.
Over reliance on either top down or bottom up can lead to incomprehension or misunderstanding.
A problem for a knowledgeable teacher is deciding at what level to present knowledge in relation to what the target audience already has in their heads.
In simple terms and more directly to the point, the guy in the video in the link above does a very good job of explaining things in an easily comprehensible way to a relative neophyte.
There are still a few things I do not understand about description of screw sizes, but I probably have enough understanding now to digest deeper dive explanations found elsewhere.
