Reproducer thumb screw snapped off
Newbie back with a question. The Chicago based "Symphony" phonograph I recently purchased has a no-name reproducer that is in very good condition, but the needle thumb-screw was missing. Come to find out last night that the original thumb-screw is broken off inside the reproducer, probably by the previous owner who must have over-tightened the thumb-screw. Can someone suggest a person to send this to to have it repaired? Or does someone have a replacement reproducer that will fit one of these Chicago based little oak phonographs with the "big spindles"?? Thank you in advance, Brian.

George Vollema is a good one. Google 'Great Lakes Antique Phonograph Repair'.

You can also contact Ron Sitko in New York. Go the "Links" section of the forum and his address is listed.

Morning Glory Antiques repaired a broken off needle set screw for me and did a good job at a reasonable price. They are in York, PA, in the summer and in Florida in the winter.

I can recommend George Vollema as well. He is just great to work with.
