What do you think of this phonograph: the seller is saying that it is an original Polyphon.
I think most parts are original but I also doubt about some parts (horn, bracket, ...)
Has anyone ever seen this model and/or has some information about it ?
Cabinet & motor looks like a Miraphone. The brass arm with "Polyphon" written/engraved on it by hand....looks like not like anything industrially manufactured. At the time when Polyphon started to manufacture discs and disc machines (e.g. Polygraphone) the cast arm was nickled with "Polygraphone" designed into it.
Pictures are a bit small to see how the travelling arm is constructed and especially the attachment methods at either side.
[BTW. The first polyphon records are very interesting as Polyphon built on thir experience with metal discs (literally) and made a record with a metal disc as its core with a celluloid coating holding the recording and a cardboard backing with a decoration & logo.]
Think with the machine you should see it "live" and then decide which bits are OK. And then of course it depends on the $ (sorry euro).
It looks to ME like the sound box would not be correctly aligned with the record, being way to forward for accurate playback, but maybe the arm is adjustable in and out.
