Be careful, it might be a trick question.

Hi Jerry,
It's a Columbia BF that is 2/4 minute. It also has an electric motor. I can't tell if it is plug-in or uses batteries. Nice machine.

Beautiful machine! Was the electric motor an original option or is it a new motor?

A handwritten note inside indicates it was ordered with the 1.5 volt DC motor from Columbia. In 1908 it was returned to the dealer and the 2&4 minute gearing was added. Beyond that, I don't know much. Edison offered an electric Triumph and called it an "Alva". I know nothing about Columbia models with electric motors. I don't know if it's a BF or ??? I would love to hear from anyone who has any information. Thanks, Jerry Blais

Jerry,
The BF has a 6" mandrel and the BE has the standard one. In the picture, it looks like the BF.
