Hello there, just a post of a living hiistory display of my machines, and Im making blanks too, while i am there. I am also in the process of making new molds, these will be much better records, Im waiting on some of the components though, they were spposed to be here sooner, but things I like are harder to get.

Re: Phonograph dislpay at the fair.
Thanks! I actually made a batch of wax compound at the fair today from scratch, even the hydrated alumina. I had trouble with cracking at first but had two nice castings. I am working on two new molds, the current one, loves cracking a ring about 1" up from the thin end, you have to pull the core very quickly. The new molds are of a different design, and I will make spiral core blanks, the core being upside down, making the fat end on the bottom, my current one is right side up, not a good idea, the current mold is only five inhes long, while the new one is almost seven, it is almost big enough to make Ediphone blanks with. We wrote a CNC program for making the mold cores, so If I can afford more molds, I can plug the numbers in and make the cores idenical every time. The first core came out perfect, and now making the bases and the outer tube. Did you know Edison blanks have a double start spiral, while Columbia is a single spiral? I had lots of interest today I must of had over 300 questions! It was great, people listtened and remarked how good the sound quality is, and that the forgot how good records in general soundedd. I even had my WE laboratory audiometer player, and I had it hooked to a BOSE computer speaker, and everybody said they never thought 78s had as good of fidelity as what they heard. And everybody was surpised how the 56" horn sounded on the triumph, with my special diaphragm and gaskets. I was not the only one with talking machines, there was someone who brought in a Vic III with "Dancing Rastuts", an urn phonograph that belongd to Norma Thalmig, and an Edison Fireside, Columbia Grafanola, and a Victrola 220..
