Hurricane Irene - stay safe!

Post by JHolmesesq »

I'd like to wish everyone on the east coast well - the storm should be pretty big when it hits us! I'm in NH and even though we shouldn't get it that bad, I'm still pretty anxious.

Take care!

I'll be moving machines, records etc. upstairs........ then close the windows and hope for the best.

At least I don't have any floor models........ :|

I am looking forward to hours of music by candle light, the sound is so much sweeter when the power is out......no better way to pass the night. :)

The lawn furniture is in the garage, the tubs are full of water, all the machines are wound up, and the fridge is stocked with beer. We're ready :P

Stay safe everyone! My parents and sister still live in NJ and whenever my Dad hears about a hurricane in TX or a tornado in OK (where 2 of my kids live), he says, "I'm sure glad I live in NJ, we never get anything bad like that!" OK, so the last time we talked, I mentioned the earthquake and an impending hurricane all in the same week, and he can't think of much of a response. OK, now when is the big volcano set to erupt?!?

Steve-- sweltering in the 108 degree temp we had today- and doing a nightly rain dance.

These times are the only time when close friends appreciate phonographs! Were hunkered down, Vic IV wound, kerosine lamps ready... and of course some wine ;)

Anyone have a copy of "Goodnight Irene" to play on their phonograph?

So far only rain here in northern Delaware. I just refinished the basement to display my phonographs, so I hope we won't get any flooding. Sure sounds like we'll have plenty of time to listen to 78s if the TV is right...
Good luck everyone in Irene's path.

Got through Irene without damage, didn't even loose power. I guess we were very lucky this time. Hope everyone else is safe as well.
