Here is the NY Times obit.
She was a most precocious child singer (her career had been launched by Warner Bros. to compete with Shirley Temple). Here she is at age 7 (but listed as age 5; with Frances Day) in My Kid’s a Crooner (Victor 24884; London, 1/15/35).

A surprisingly catchy tune, I wonder how many takes it took to get that one in the can! Sybil was perfect

What a lovely number, I knew it from Ambrose, but this version is even better. British dance bance were so sophisticated and gentle, never losing the melody, while still leaving room for hot solos. Ammy's band in particular was marvelous. On the continent the Belgians had some of the very best orchestras. They had, as they still do, a tradition for dining and dancing in the weekends, so naturally they liked to dance to live music. Not being skimpy as we Dutchmen are, they would spend a fortune listening to some of the very best bands. It may be a country that is frowned upon today, but believe me, behind all that dirt and those closed shutters, a Belgian sure knows how to enjoy life. They don't make some of the best beers for nothing. And their flea markets on Sunday are legendary. The whole family goes out, dressed up to their nines, has a quick browse, drinks a café filtre, returns and buys some knick knacks and then has a copious lunch of moûles or lobsters on one of the many squares.
On topic again: thank you very much for posting. I really appreciate it. I love the American bands from the 20s, but in my opinion in the 30s the Brits were far superior.

I came across this surprising account of Frances Day. Seems she had quite a colorful life!
Frances Day - the siren that dissapeared.
