Can you spot the incorrect part on this VV-IV ?
I came across this handsome Victor Victrola IV but something about it strikes me as not looking quite right. Can you find it?

It's all correct. That's an optional crank, available by special order, so you can wind it from the next room. Jerry

That's an easy one: it's the very rare vertical-play model; it's cranked from below. Or from above, when mounted in the cellar.

Actually, that is a very rare piece. That is the right channel of the first stereo record player. The Left channel can be any standard VV-IV and sits to the left. The crank extends through the right channel unit and threads into the left channel unit normally. The right channel crank fits through a spring not unlike the Victrolita discussed in another thread.
The real value is when you have the original matching left channel unit, which would bear a serial number of one less than this one. Difficult to find, but I don't many would find that a deal breaker.

And they rotate in opposite directions, which makes things even more interesting.Brad wrote:Actually, that is a very rare piece. That is the right channel of the first stereo record player. It's missing the Edison record.
