This auction must have been up for no more than a minute or two. Someone was just a little faster than me.

and I even have a spare backbracket at home.

Well, it it makes you feel any better, keep in mind that the tone arm and elbow for these are a real beach to find. I had one of these sitting for years in my basement, lacking tone arm and elbow (admittedly, this was back in the 80s; pre-eBay). I finally traded it for a rare Berliner record title.

You really didn't want another project anyway, did you? ;)

Well...I actually already have an extra reproduction elbow...and horn (I have an earlier Vic 1 that kept getting nicer parts to)....and a repro tone arm would run me about $100 (I actually sold a repro arm to someone on this board after finding an orignal for my Vic 1), so it wouldn't be much of a parts hunt, just a relatively easy restoration....and to be honest, this would be just a project to fix and flip, and pay for some linger projects (and as Vic 1s seem to have been fetching around $1k recent, it would finance the rest of my projects).

But as you said, I do have plenty on my plate. Now that the VTLA is done, I've started work on the VV-XII (and I have a Monarch that still needs a couple parts, and motor servicing)....so hopefully this Vic 1 found a good home, and is making some poor collector very happy.

And of course, the guy who won it, immediately turned around and resold it for $367.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/280763935936?ss ... K:MEDWX:IT (Sorry, still don't know how to do a screen cap. and post).

I bid on it, and was willing to go up to around $200, but considering I purchased the case and motor of my Vic 1 for $350, when the market was higher, mine is an earlier version, and is in near perfect original condition (although it was minus the turntable), there was no way I was going to spend this kind of money on this project (even if I do have all the parts to complete it).

Oh well. Hopefully, NOW, it has found a good home.
