I have a book from 1889 called The Atlantic Monthly - A Magazine Of Literature, Science, Art and Politics. There were volumes put together in book form and mine is a compilation of each monthly publication from January to June of 1889. In the February section of the book, there is an interesting article called "The New Talking-Machines." The person who wrote the article states he followed closely the development of the phonograph as well as Bell's Graphophone. There are some interesting things suggested in this article that I had never heard before so I decided to post scans of the pages to hear other peoples thoughts. Click each page to view it in it's own browser window and then click the image again to magnify it if need be.
