What was this actually used for? The EBay seller has been trying to sell this big Edison Shaver for months. Dictating machine? Interesting piece.
220893574154 (notice the big "E" for Edison cast on each end of the unit)

I had one of these back in the 80s, in near-perfect condition, but with missing belts like this one. It took me 6 months to sell it for $100!

I was watching that shaver as well - he just wants way too much for it.
