I already noticed it, and added it to my watchlist. I hope it doesn't get much more expensive. It's already over EUR 50 with two more days to go........

Nice addition to the HMV 202. I've got a no. 4a wide bore for that. I'm willing to let it go for an arm and only half a leg (pre-Christmas sale).

Holy cow! When did No.4's get so expensive?
I thought they were worth around AU$30-$40. This one's up to AU$72 already & hasn't even got a box.
They're still probably one of the most common soundboxes around, so what's pushed up the price?

Is it just me, or does e-bay sometimes just have this effect on certain things?gramophoneshane wrote:They're still probably one of the most common soundboxes around, so what's pushed up the price?

Probably because people don't change the diaphragm, they just take one from a more run down 101. A good 101 has shot up in price too. 102s are still a dime a doze, 101s are getting quite expensive. and rightfully so. They are nicer, sound sweeter, particularly with worn records and don't have that fiddly auto brake. A 102 can be overly LOUD too.
