This one looks like a reasonably close reproduction:

Re: Real or Repro?
I've never seen one with a wooden turntable like that.
In fact, there are a number of differences between the one for sale on ebay, and the one photographed and described here: http://homepage.mac.com/oldtownman/reco ... liner.html

Definitely not old- possibly some home craftsman's one off, it looks like a decent quality job with a lot of cast and machined brass.

Very repro....
. The one in the link is a US prototype. This bad Ebay copy is trying to be a K&R toy Gramophon.

Re: Real or Repro?
Now, how could that possibly be a repro? The listing clearly states that it's original.

Uh oh - - the auction has ended early. Maybe someone swooped in with a few thousand dollars and coaxed this fake away from the seller...!

Re: Real or Repro?
Maybe someone emailed the seller and he (honestly) pulled his listing? Or someone got taken to the cleaners on this!

Re: Real or Repro?
Well, I hope a collector didn't get ripped off. Just like the last three Berliner or Johnson wooden needle tubes that sold for over $300.00 USD each.....now that is a burn....
. They are pure "fantasy" and nothing more.
