Victrola auto-brake in pieces

Post by bjones211 »

I'm a newbie to all this but bought a VV-111 for the wife and am in the process of a tear-down and
restoration. One small issue is that the auto-brake came in pieces and although I know how it works
and is supposed to go together I think I'm missing a piece or something. The brass colored catch
and the silver colored trip arm both rotate freely on the knob that attaches to the wood motor base
and I think they should be connected somehow (washers maybe?). I do have the spring and know how
it goes on, I just don't know how the catch that the tone arm touches causes the spring-loaded trip
arm to trip.

Thanks,
Brian
