Came across this handsome set selling in Canada for $650.00.

That looks like a beautiful example of the VV-4-70 -- http://www.victor-victrola.com/4-70.htm -- which sold only in Canada.

From the looks of the cabinet, it probably uses the same small re-entrant style horn used in the VV-4-40 and the Barona --

Since it originally sold for $195.00 Canadian, it was a relatively expensive mid-range model.

I'd say, for $650 (C), the price is pretty good, at least it would be for the US market.

Thanks for the info...I re-checked the ad..the machine is selling for $600.00 not
the $650.00 I originally posted.

I see another VV-4-70 for sale near Halifax Nova Scotia on Kijiji asking $400.00

Just curious if anybody knows what happens at the border if a U.S. citizen buys a Canadian item and tries to bring it back home, either shipped or in person, specifically, will any duty fees apply, and if so, how determined? I'm speaking of older, used items like this 4-70.
