Edison Kinetophone

Post by kinetophone »

Hello,

I am an avid collector of vintage 35mm projection equipment. After years of searching I have recently finished piecing together a circa 1913 Kinetophone projector which consists of an Underwriters Model Type D Projecting Kinetoscope and an Edison Kinetophone Synchronizer.
I was curious if anyone out there might have a Kinetophone phonograph, or know of one in a private collection somewhere.
Also would be curious if any of you might have any other Kinetophone machines or components.

Best Regards,

I've seen a rather complete-looking setup on display at the Edison National Historic Site in Orange NJ.

Finding an appropriate Kinetophone phonograph will be quite a task! The phono used oversized cylinders and was linked to the projector with a cable to maintain (somewhat) synchronized sound.
Good luck with your search!

It's not the projector part that is hard to find, there are plenty (relatively speaking) of Edison projector heads and arc lamps. It's all the bits that make up the sound playback set-up that are more rare than hens teeth.
