Edison Ekonowatt motor.

Post by badwaxcaps »

Could someone tell me what the current draw is on the Edison Ekonowatt motor in the Model E recorder? Im looking to build a tube rectifier power supply for mine. I can measure it with my vm but was looking to save a bit of time.. Thanks!

Dear Badwaxcaps,
I am pretty sure that the Econowatt motor is happy with either AC or DC. Hope this helps! BTW, I like your screen name; I've seen a few of those in my lifetime :-)

Was looking to do an interesting globe tube rectifier power supply for display purposes. Already brought the motor back to life (dead for 50+ years) on AC power with my variac. Runs smooth and quiet. Slowly getting the recorder cleaned up. Needs a belt and the tube that attaches to the record aperture along with a few cylinders. Ebay here I come! Thanks. :)
