Using Isopropyl with Credenza Horn Glycerine Treatment

I am restoring a Credenza that has spent its life in hot, dry North Texas. I expect it is a good candidate for R. J. Wakeman's glycerine horn treatment to restore density to the horn. The treatment calls for glycerine added to methyl alcohol. Since methyl alcholol is so hard to find locally, does anyone know if it is acceptable to use 91% isopropyl alcohol, since it is basically just a carrier for the glycerine?
