Brass Edison Crane Foot ????

How many of the basic style crane feet have you seen that is brass? Even nickel plated brass. I have only ever seen metal. I started cleaning it up and noticed it was brass. It has 282 stamped on the bottom. Doesn't look like a reproduction.
revive all kinds of edison cylinder phonographs and roller organs

All the originals I've owned have been nickel plated brass, and the reproductions have been aluminium.
