VIctor Country in Colour

Post by Lenoirstreetguy »

Here's another in the series of aerial views of the plant that Victor produced every time they built something new, which was certainly quite often. I've seen this particular picture of the Victor spread before but never in colour, so I thought I'd scan it . It's the centrefold from the May 1916 Supplement.

Camden never looked better! Plus, lots of shipping (and no bridges!) on the Delaware. Walt Whitman used to take the ferries across from the foot of Market St. Philadelphia to his modest house in Camden, maintained today as a National Historic Site. Of course, that was before the VTMCo. existed. Great bird's eye view of the Atlantic Coastal Plain, flat as a pancake down to Delaware Bay. Very different sights today!
