The following is a rough timeline of the Brliner machines I compiled for myself:
1894-1901 Berliner Hand-Driven, "strap" soundbox amd funnel horn;
1896-1897 Berliner Lever Wind/ "Tin Can", "strap" soundbox and funnel horn;
1897(early)-? Berliner Lever Wind in square wood cabinet, J soundbox and funnel horn;
1897(mid)-1901 Berliner Improved Gramophone
First version: J soundbox and funnel horn, brake on the side, swinging
action;
Second version: J soundbox and funnel or belled horn, brake on the side,
pivoting action;
Third(?) version: J soundbox and belled horn, "bullet" brake on top;
Fourth(?) ore more?
1897(fall)-1898 Berliner Montross, J soundbox and funnel horn, side winding crank and simplified
support arm;
1899-? Berliner JS, JS soundbox and conical horn, nickle plated cast iron body, no elbow;
189?-1903(?) Berliner Open Works, J soundbox and belled horn, no "box" only baseboard marketed
only in Europe. (Looking at the images of this machine, the motor looks much like
the motor of the G&T New#3 motor I have with the larger spring and vertical sped
controll arrangement.)
Please fill in the question mark if you have the info.

P.S. As I stated I am OCD, and can not help about it!
