Zon-o-phone questions

Post by Guest »

Hello,

This Zon-o-phone has been in my family for quite awhile and I would like to get it back into working order. However,it is missing its reproducer. I have dug through the web the last few days looking for info on what I need and what this machine actually is. The closest thing that I have found is a Zonophone Concert series.

Are there any break down diagrams out there for these machines? Could anyone tell me what I need to be looking for in terms of the reproducer. Is there a reproducer mount missing also?

Thanks for your help,

Daniel

My Zonophone is very similar and has what looks like (except for the engraving) a Victor exhibiton reproducer. It looks like you are missing the back bracket as well, but it may just not be in the picture.

Here is the attachment to the taper tube. It is a simple rubber washer attached with two screws like the Victor.

Thanks for the reply.

I have the back bracket and a morning glory horn that I just didn't include in the photos.

Is there anything besides the gasket that goes between the reproducer and the arm?

Well, I ordered a Victor Exhibition reproducer and it does not fit. The screw holes align correctly but the flange on the reproducer is too large and does not fit inside the sound hole in the arm. Does anyone know of anything else that may fit or know of a place I can pick up a Zon-o-phone reproducer?

Thanks

The back flange normally found on an exhibition is too large and should be replaced with a rubber washer a few mm thick of the same diameter.
