Edison Model B Reproducer a little different?

Picked this up yesterday but looking on the internet I couldn't find another with the 2 screws. Any help would be appreciated. The bottom looked like governor speed controls balls that get white stuff on them. Chemical reaction?
Serial Number 100672. Will need to be rebuilt as very low volume.

I have seen Model B reproducers with attachable extra weights in the past. They did have these two screws. The extra weight looks like it's made from lead, which tends not to age very well. Just a guess...

I'd expect the diaphragm to be mica.

I believe the Model B reproducers were made between 1902-1907. These were originally designed to play the softer brown wax. However, when Edison introduced Gold Moulded records 1901/1902, they were made of a harder substance, so in order to produce more volume, the lead weight was added. In 1902 the Model C was also introduced with the tail weight, thus making the Model B obsolete. The Model B and C coexisted for a few years, but the Model B's are more frequently found on the Gem and on machines shipped to the UK.
