For those of you who knew Sharon, her husband Ken emailed me last night and said that she died around 5 pm yesterday in a local Hospice. Sharon was diagnosed with a tumor in her lungs in the early spring I believe. Although she has never been a smoker, the disease grew quickly. In July she was told she would not see a new year and she was still in good spirits.
Sharon was one of the few female collectors of phonographs and she loved to learn about every machine. I joked with her years ago that she would have to change her "Handle" as her collection grew because phonographs are like Layes potato chips... you just can't have just one... or three!
Sharon was such a joy to know and be around and I enjoyed her surprise emails updating me on their never ending improvements on their homes and collection.
Please keep her husband Ken and family in your prayers and thoughts. I'll miss you 3victrolas!
Sincerely, Jeff Lee Moooperator

Re: Our friend "3victrolas" Sharon Maurer passed away
That is such sad news to hear.
I remember seeing her from time to time on the forum, and I recall her mentioning she was a fond collector of china dolls when many of us participated in a "what else are you into" type thread a year or two back.
Thank you for letting us know.

Thanks for the report, Moo. Although I only corresponded with her a few times, I came to know her as a helpful, level-headed fellow enthusiast. I too will miss her posts. God bless her.

I knew Sharon as I sold her a machine several years back and that is when I first met her in person. When we were fortunate enough to meet up at Union I found it an odd sight to see a woman leading the hunt for that next "phonograph find" with her husband Ken following close behind. We will miss you Sharon.

Thank you for letting us know, Jeff.
I too corresponded with Sharon several times over the years and always enjoyed receiving her kind, thoughtful, interesting and supportive emails.
Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
Rest in peace, Sharon.

Terrible news indeed. I never had the pleasure of meeting Sharon in person, but her postings suggested a genuinely nice person. We'll miss her.

So sorry to hear this. Sharon and I corresponded occasionally and it was always good hearing from her. Such a sweet and positive person. I will miss her. I helped her find bamboo needles and a cutter at Union one year and we had fun.

Ken, if you do ever get to read this thread, Sharon touched many lives of collectors around the world. Her positive attitude and warm friendly approach won her many 'phono' friends.
We will all miss her greatly.
