This photo is always an inspiration to me. I with Pablo Helguera, I recorded Chief Jones Mari Smith on wax cylinder, and she was the last person to speak Eyak. Dead Languages Conservatory is a collection of almost extinct music and dialect from Mexico, Central and South America, as well as Native American stories and songs. Many of you think I have not made many cylinders, or have made up the number, this project alone, which is a small number of blanks and recordings I have made is over 300 cylinders! just this one project, and some I actually had to make on location, I molded blanks on location at the old Armory in San Juan!
