Actually, the governor springs go through both flanges on all three machines. It doesn't show very well in the second photo with the machine on the left, but they're all alike in that respect.

Thanks George, I could only make out this on the one machine.However, a screw or eyelet could also be just a QC issue or whatever was on hand while trying to pump these out (like at Xmas). It could have very well been changed by a past owner.
Hard to say.... ;).

One comment I was going to post before the "fray" began was; what a year for you, between having three of these super rare Echophones in your home, but the 4 ultra rare ISM's!

The mandrel on the left appears to be gutta-percha, on the right looks to be metal.
