Wow, what a great find Curt!! Congrats on your good fortune, gives the rest of us hope that what we seek is out there someplace, but we'll probably find it when we are least expecting it. By the by, what happened with the Chris Craft? Did you get that as well? (As one who likes---and can't afford---the fine old wooden boats, any pics of that?)

Fabulous find Curt, its always nicer when you don't expect it. I can imagine it will be hard to drive by any antique shop now with out stopping in to just look around.

According to the Baumbach book, Look for the Dog c. 2005, a Victrola XX is worth north of $6000!

An incredible deal on a fabulous machine--and even with what appear to be some of the original albums in good condition. WOW

Thanks for the comments, guys... as for the Chris Craft, it was a 6' radio control boat with an asking price of $3,500. Needless to say, it stayed and the Vic went home with me.

Well, as anyone who's had one can tell you, a wooden boat is nothing but a money-pit...
I looked-up your machine in LFTD last night... according to Baumbach, they made somewhere around 500 VV-XX in 1908-1909, placing it among the rarer (rarest?) Victrolas...

An amazing find, Curt -- congratulations! At that price, it really was Santa's doing. It's just that he required a little "co-pay"! What a beauty -- I hope you'll enjoy it for many years to come. Merry Christmas!
