I can understand a seller asking a higher price for the machine as the probability of seeing a face ingrained in the wooden cabinet of a phonograph is quite remote. However, $70,000 is absurd.

This kind of thing is becoming an Ebay tradition. Remember the ham sandwich with the image of the Virgin Mary?

Now if the image of a squirrel ( :squirrel: ) were woven into the grain of the wood.......

I've shown this picture to two disinterested people without mentioning who the face might represent and their first reaction was that the image looked like the devil, they both immediately noticed horns on the top of the head.

Folks,

Forgive me but I fear this thread is veering too close to insulting some religious beliefs. It is a fine line and I may be over-reacting, but I've decided to make a call right or wrong. I've locked this thread for the time being. Please feel free to PM any opinions on my decision directly to me-I need everyone's input on matter such as this if we are to build a long-lasting top-notch forum. I ask your patience-this is still a fairly new job for me! Thank you.

Regards,
John
