Apologies if I may have appeared to be somewhat over reactive with my conclusions but I wasn't aware that a long throat exhibition soundbox was an option and available with this model. The electrical tape adjacent to the horn elbow seemed tacky to me. Additionally I wasn't aware that the spindle came without the accommodating hold down thread and the motor appears to have a thread for the crank was the reasons for my suspicions.
Either way it seems a lot of money for something that is in my view down on condition.

Here is one I have

I'm surprised at the price when compared to previous sales of this model on ebay...
Well, lets see....all the oxidized parts were very well worn. All the nickel parts on the tone arm were just rust (therefore, not even good for parts). The motor was very well worn (much like the whole machine).
The horn was rusty and in poor condition, the wood was dry and poor..... etc, etc..... Almost like a real "barn find".

It was a lot of money for a nice dealer celluloid plate..... .

I think the auction was expecting North of $900. It did not make that even on Ebay.

I was considering selling my example, but it seems I might as well toss it out the window.

Why???.
The motor needs a rebuild, the nickle plating is shot, the felt is motheaten, the oxidized finish is worn out, it doesn't have the correct reproducer, the horn finish is damaged & the traveling arm is a reproduction. It's beginning to sound as it the thing is completely worthless. Back in the 1970's this really DID come out of a barn.

Actually estott, if you had seen the top on the one in question (just rust), yours looks like new.... . You also have a support with the finish. Something not present on the other.
Of course yours is also the more desirable early model... :).

Even with all this...it still realized over $800.....

Yours may realize over $1000+.... ;). Let me know when you are going to open your window. I just want to make sure I'm below to catch it... ;)  .

Please do.

I hear it will increase the value of mine if there are fewer of these around. ;)
