The pulses you feel when cranking are 100% normal for this motor. It's due to the crude winding gears with big, square teeth. Nothing to worry about and impossible to change.

Still, an abundant dose of high quality grease on those "crude square teeth" would greatly help methinks... ;)

This is one of the most dry phono/gram motors I've seen in all my life! Do you remember when lads at school used to scratch the chalkboard with their fingernails just to horrify the gals? Well, I feel like one of those goose-bumped gals if I just figure about this motor in action... :?
