Record Slip Lamination

Post by Aaron »

Ok, so has anyone ever considered laminating cylinder record slips, or other a paper items? :?: I have about 20 or so slips. Half of which are in awesome condition, but some have seen better days. All their life they have been repeatedly folded and unfolded within the box, and now I'm becoming worried that one of these days I'm going to find one of two of them in more than one or two pieces. Does anyone one know of any long term negative effects lamination could have on the slips? And do you think that would bring down the record's value if I ever tried to sell it? What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
Aaron

Aaron,

I wouldn't laminate them. I put mine in a photograph album. If you sell the record, you will have a nice original slip to offer. For the untitled cylinders, I would put a note in the cylinder box what the title is. For the paper items, you can buy the plastic sleeves at office depot and put them in a notebook.

Aaron,

Take a look at shops that sell supplies to post card collectors and coin collectors. You should be able to find 3-ring binder plastic sheets that have slots/sections that you can slide the cylinder slips in and see both sides.

I did a quick google and found this link: http://www.coinsupplystore.com/site/164 ... 871#Albums But look around.

I too have some cylinder slips and just have them tucked away. You bring up a great idea to display them.

Scan 'em and put digital prints in the boxes.
