Missing Parts?

Found Wyatt and Vollema via Google. Thanks again.

Wyatt shows a pic of the parts of an Edison Home, which includes a thing called a Selector.

There is no such part on this machine. And I'm wondering how the shift from 2min to 4min is made. There's a lever next to "2-4" on the frame, but it's just a brake to stop the machine. So...?

As Dave D mentioned, the "shift lever" does not go with the 2/4 minute set-up on your machine. The D and later Homes have the "clutch" with the flange / lip on the edge of the laterally shifting part of the pulley. The earlier 2/4 minute shifting pulley has a groove machined in the hub, to receive the shifting pin on the short-end of the shift lever. You usually find the lever-shift on "suitcase," A, and B Homes.

What is the purpose of this collar on the traverse bar (or whatever it's called)? Is it supposed to be located between the two legs of the carriage (or whatever the moving thing is called)? What does it do there? I have the collar, but don't know where to put it.

I believe it is a limit-stop, to prevent the carriage from travelling too far to the right.

Someone else will have to comment on what is the "correct adjustment", I'm not sure myself.

Just place it far enough over to keep the half nut from running off the feedscrew.

These are timing marks for adjusting the speed. In the 2 minute gear it should take one minute for the edge of the carriage to travel from one line to the next.
