Nice work, Bob. I also 'shopped the image a bit with sharpen and auto-adjust, and got similar results. With more time, I could use the rubber stamp tool to minimize the fold line crease. Now to obtain paper long enough to print it out full-size (11"x21") and it'll be ready for display In the 1926 Brill center-door car #76 up at the trolley museum in Scranton!

Also the L of QUALITY. Not likely these overlaps occurred at exactly the place where it was torn in half. Could be parts of 2 different cards...
I wonder if perhaps there was a small pile of these leftover that were cut in half, intending them to be discarded. Someone (probalby a Gene Austin fan at the printer's or Victor) could easily have taken halves of two different cards home.

Kevin,

I was thinking the same thing.
Someone may have cut up unused stock to discard them.
What a shame, but who knew back then, how collectable these cards would be today.
The one up for auction is virtually useless to me.
Maybe worth $25-$50???

One would have to take a very close look at the cut to determine whether it was meant to be in one or two pieces originally. I once helped sell a plethora of movie posters, and remember that some of the bigger ones were in multiple pieces with some overlapping printing on separate pieces.

Looks like the card sold for "best offer".
I am going to try Staples for printing an 11 X 21 poster size print of this card.
I've had success with mounting copies on foam board from Walmart using spray adhesive.

Here's an example of a smaller version.

Good thought on the staples idea. Please let us know what they charge you for this service. It may not pay me to buy a whole pack of right-size Epson paper to do the job in-house, unless of course I was going to print a quantity of them.

Meanwhile, here's a link to the Victor discography for this item: http://adp.library.ucsb.edu/index.php/o ... ctor_20561
Looks like the issue date for Victor 20561 was 5/1927 and the cutout year 1929. It seems that Vic 20561 and 20514 are one and the same recording, according to the above link.

Staples: Image enlarged to 11 by 21 inches mounted on poster board - $11:98.

A big thank you to Bob and Henry!

Any other scans of Victor Trolley cards out there?

Be careful with Staples. They are sticklers if they think these trolley cards are copyrighted. Maybe it's just the one in Silverdale, WA. I'd love to get one of these, too.
