looks like the box below the turntable is the only place that the sound can go; there is no opening from that box to the bottom grill portion of the machine. Which seems weird, since the grill is not just in front of another box area; there is a shape behind it like it is a horn. How do you take that grill off? I may be in for removing the back to see what's going on. more pics attached.
