The Phonola was made in Kitchener, Ontario by the Pollock Manufacturing Company. They moved into radios in the 20's and eventually renamed themselves Electrohome in the late 30's. They manufactured radios and later televisions and stereos and appliances. They wound down operations in 2008 but the Electrohome trademark still exists. And I think the original company still owns CKCO: the Kitchener station. In the phonograph era they advertised extensively. They produced an internal horn machine early and thereby pushed the fact that they sold an internal horn machine cheaper than the Berliner Gram-0-Phone Co's Victrola. I don't know why Berliner didn't go after them but they seemed somehow to escape prosecution.phonophan79 wrote:Phonola phonograph
