Well, viewed purely as a project and as ingenuity - I'd say someone had put a lot of pretty good work into it!

Sometimes I wonder if we may be a bit too fast to condemn a fix-something-up job: I've got an Edison Fireside that has clearly been the subject of some pretty ingenious "farm repairs" to keep it going, probably a long time ago (some wrong springs, a home-molded governor weight on a home-made spring, bits of wire here and there... ). This one's obviously new - but if some kid and his dad did it, I don't want it - but hats off! (I mean, we all mess with our machines... )

I don't disagree with you there... but I wonder if you spend a lot of time creating or rebuilding one, would you really want to turn around and sell it? I don't think anyone is going to truly appreciate the ingenuity and work that goes into such an endeavor as the one who does the work. JMO, of course...

Yeah, my guess is he won't get much out of it. I am building an electric frankenphone
at the moment since I have no other use for my Edison cabinet. I also like to have an electric if I want to sample a bunch of new records in a shorter period of time (minus the cranking). So for me its a functionality thing. I would be lucky to get $50 out of it if I sold it.

This a VERY RARE PIECE. ONLY EXCEPTIONAL OFFERS WILL BE CONCIDERED. It does need attention and work, but for those who know, it is well worth it. If you find another for sale, I would love to see it. Has original pat. info still attached, with the date of April 1,1923. Will send pics upon offer. If I stand corrected, PLEASE inform me. I have attempted to research $ and the value is near the $100,000. Once again, If I am wrong please show me what I need to know(not being sarcastic).
