Well for similar reasons, but mostly because of the cost, I no longer buy records or anything else out of the UK. There was a time a few years ago I could get things cheaply and quickly from the UK. Things aren't too slow now, but it costs twice the value of most records to ship them. It is really changing things. I just stick to the US now.WDC wrote:I have stopped to receive any international mail from the US because it's so bad now. The last package was dispatched from California by mid-March. It went from LA to Honolulu, then to Tokyo, then to Frankfurt where it collected dust for another 10 days at our beloved customs. Even before the pandemic, our customs were known to be so slow they couldn't even catch a cold. Two days longer it would have been 7 weeks.
On the other hand, DHL has canceled their commodity mail shipping method, so instead of about $10 I would now have to charge $60 to ship the same item to the US, not worth the hassle.
Back to the original topic though, I get records vial media mail as fast as they come by priority mail. And, I have not had any delayed shipments for quite a long time. I did have one of those it went all over the place packages, but it was a couple of years ago but I got it.
