Vitaphone Upright, coming home on Friday, any advice?

Bill, there is a stop on mine which keeps the loop from being pulled at too steep an angle. Mine is at about 45 degrees to the diaphragm. In my photo above, you can see that the end of the spring (attached to the string) has a small brass device which keeps the string from pulling the beam too much to the side. Cheers, Russie

Mine doesn’t have anything similar, although I don’t know what was done to it before I got it.. it does look like the arm is pulled to the side, though, in pictures of another machine that Greg Bogantz posted a while ago. I will have to try working on mine a bit more to see what I can do with it.
