Re: Waiting On Delivery Of My Columbia HG From Raphael Cole

Here's a piece of information that may or may not be interesting to some on the forum.

The first style HG that is for sale on the trader #2089 is one of the last HG's produced, maybe the last one.
Somewhere between #2089 and #2104 the HG ended and the AG went into production. The first 1000 AG's continued with
the nickel plated brass bedplate, then Columbia switched to aluminum. The first few hundred were unpainted then they
began painting them black and continued until the end of production around just over #9,000. Another run
appears to have been produced with serial numbers starting around 13,000, the highest so far 13,613.

Well I picked up the Columbia HG from Raphael Cole on Saturday. It’s now upstairs in my phonograph room. Must say that it’s stunning, Thank You again Raphael. I also can’t believe how loud the machine plays. I even stuffed some tissue paper in the horn to muffle the volume. Here’s a video of it playing as requested.

Rich,

You got a great machine, for sure.

It was great to see you again, even under these surreal circumstances.

Enjoy!

Raphael
