It's raining! I've been an Oregonian my while life and I'm used to Oregon drizzle. But I've never been so happy to see rain. Hopefully this will help control the fires and clean our air.

Re: Just wondering how are you guys in the Oregon area doing
Thanks to my Texas friends, David and Lerria, for asking about the fires in Portland and the rest of Oregon. Also thanks to Raphael Cole and others who have asked. It's been very smoky here the last week. In fact, Portland has had the worst air of any large city in the WORLD the past week. I know that is nothing to brag about!!! Some smaller towns in Oregon have had even worse air pollution. But early this morning it rained and it is still raining in Portland. The smoke situation here is much better, but still not great. Hopefully that is changing. I do know people who have lost homes in the area, so thanks for your kind thoughts and prayers.
Responding to Jerry now: I did play a Polka Band Gig (clarinet, tuba, accordion) at a Retirement Home yesterday. I was a little concerned because of COVID issues in Oregon, but the Home did a nice job by all wearing masks and reducing the number of retirees who were allowed to attend. And social distancing helped too. No, I can't play the clarinet with a mask on, but we were kept many feet away from all residents. We do play 4 more gigs next week; two of them will be virtual. We will be taped in one room and it will be broadcast to the residents.
Stay safe all of you and I look forward to when we can meet again next year. Stan Stanford, Portland

Alles Quatsch. We had a couple nut jobs start minor fires but they were swiftly apprehended and the fires went nowhere. The rumors are being spread faster and doing more damage by tying up emergency responders.Curt A wrote:With all of the chaos caused by rioters and looters, now arsonists???
