Curt A wrote: Thu Jul 01, 2021 10:31 pm There is a crane that works well with this Columbia cabinet. The best way to describe it is that it has a steel strap which runs under the cabinet, with a crane mount attached and a sliding "clamp" piece that holds it firmly to the outside bottom molding. I don't remember who made it, but it does not damage the cabinet and will support a large horn. Someone can probably identify the crane I am referring to...
I just found the base part for sale - all that is needed is an upright portion (most types will interchange).

No, that’s a whole crane. Smart move is to buy a complete crane and eliminate the guesswork.
Most of the longtime collectors on here have a pile of them (full disclosure: I sure do) and would be happy to sell you one of their extras. Try placing a want-ad in the yankee trader and I’m sure some choices will pop up. And cheaper than what has been seen in this thread so far.

Posted yesterday. What would you want for one of yours?

Not sure whether I want to sell any of mine, actually. I’ll try to check over the Independence Day weekend, if there are any I’m willing to part with, I’ll test them with my BE and let you know.

The BE is a neat machine. I love the one I got from Jerry B. I still need to send the lyric reproducer out for a rebuild.

Yeah, I thought about sending Wyatt Markus my reproducer, but we'll see. Need some cylinders to try on it first.
