Can anyone tell me what the set screw (letter s on instruction sheet) looks like , it replaces the round head set screw on cylinder shaft? I didn’t get it with the kit I purchased ? Any idea where I can find one? Haven’t had much luck searching so far. Thanks
Dan

I don’t know, what model machine do you have? A converter isn’t that good, a fireside would be pretty easy to convert and if you have a 4 minute machine too, you don’t need a converter.
If I were a troll, I would not post on the Talking Machine Forum; I would live under a bridge, post on Reddit, and eat goats for dinner!

Can you show us a picture of the instruction sheet, depicting the "letter s" set screw?DanP58 wrote: Thu Jan 25, 2024 1:21 pm Can anyone tell me what the set screw (letter s on instruction sheet) looks like , it replaces the round head set screw on cylinder shaft? Re: Edison 2-4 minute conversion
If you can share a picture of the instruction sheet showing the set screw that you're referring to we can surely help. I presume this is for an Edison Standard 2/4 min conversion.DanP58 wrote: Thu Jan 25, 2024 1:21 pm Can anyone tell me what the set screw (letter s on instruction sheet) looks like

Re: Edison 2-4 minute conversion
If you're referring to this set screw circled in the picture I provided it is a very vital screw that secures the "new" mandrel shaft bearing to the upper casting. Perhaps Parlier has one of these screws. The assembly won't function correctly without it.

Yep I found that out , it’s probably a standard size thread looks like 4-40 but I’m not sure of length or head style that will fit under the mechanism. I’ll check with Brian P thanks

The thread size is 5-40 but you won’t find that size in most hardware stores.
We have covered a similar topic previously.

If you can’t locate what you need elsewhere I can send a slotted 5-40 set screw, I bought a small quantity from Blacksmith Bolt and Rivet.

Mark That would be great , I’ll be able to get it working until, if and when I find an original screw . Let me know the cost and shipping. Thanks Dan
